Watermelon Margaritas
The iconic food of Summer: Watermelon
There is something about a hot day and a cold piece of watermelon. I remember when I was a little girl my sister and I would have watermelon eating contests between swimming in the pool.
Watermelon is juicy and naturally sweet. I am sure you've seen the Pinterest pins of people turning Watermelons into slushees and soaking them in vodka. It's a pretty popular (and tasty) Summer experiment!
Having been on a Cara Cara orange margarita kick lately I turned to the fruit section for my next margarita inspiration. Cue watermelons.
I wanted something that was easy to make, and didn't require a bunch of ingredients or extra sugars. Already in love with mint in my drinks, I scooped up a package along with my watermelon and headed home.

Ingredients:
3 large chunks of watermelon
mint
2 oz tequila
ice
Agave Syrup *optional*
shaker cup
Directions (makes 1 serving)
muddle watermelon and mint into bottom of shaker cup
add ice and tequila
Shake and taste - if you would like it sweeter then add in 1/8 oz agave syrup at a time (a little goes a long way)
Pour contents into a glass and enjoy!
I can't stress enough how simple and delicious this take on a margarita is. The watermelon also doubles as a snack once you're done drinking and it packs a punch!
